PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS
CTS has specific requirements to ensure high-quality standards of service for all of our provider companies, drivers, and vehicles. Requirements include but are not limited to:
Deliverables
CTS credentialed providers all:
- Have a certificate of good standing issued by the state where the work will be performed and/or are registered to do business in that state
- Verify and attest that their employees are not appearing on state and/or federal debarment list (OIG/SAM)
- Routinely screen drivers’ DMV records and criminal background checks and assure both are satisfactory
Policies and Procedures
Written policies and procedures are important for safety and compliance. CTS network providers have, at a minimum, the following written policies:
- Vehicle maintenance program
- Complaint tracking and resolution
- Incident and accident reporting
- Maintaining member/rider confidentiality as defined by HIPAA
- Employee standards and requirements
Obtaining Reimbursement
CTS offers a secure and convenient Provider Web Portal to submit claims. Clean claims are paid within 30 days of submission.
All claims are submitted on a semi-monthly basis:
- First half of the month (1st through the 15th)
- Second half of the month (16th through the end of the month) within five business days after the billing cycle ends
Insurance
Insurance minimums are outlined by specific state and/contract obligations and include, at a minimum:
- General Liability
- Automobile Liability
- Umbrella Policy, if required
- Workers Compensation
Trip Expectations
To complete a trip for CTS clients, our providers offer courteous, safe and timely transportation services, and accurately keep the following important trip records:
- Pre-trip vehicle inspection reports
- Driver logs
- Driver manifests
- Reimbursement requests
Training and Qualifications
The following training is required for drivers:
- Defensive Driving
- Passenger Assistance Training
- Customer Service Training
- Sensitivity Training
- First Aid and CPR if mandated
Driving With CTS
Drivers transporting CTS clients are expected to:
- Provide safe, courteous and reliable transportation
- Provide assistance to CTS clients when appropriate
- Be professional in dress and appearance
- Never drive distracted
Vehicle Maintenance
Vehicle maintenance schedules must comply with:
- Department of Transportation
- Department of Motor Vehicles
- CTS Standards
- Other contractual requirements
Vehicle Requirements
- Licensed, inspected and insured to meet appropriate local, state and federal guidelines, along with any specified contractual requirements
- Interior and exterior signage as specified by local, state and federal guidelines along with specific contractual requirements
- Properly functioning safety equipment on board each vehicle
- Two-way communication between driver and dispatch
